Klong Damnoen Saduak or Damnoen Saduak floating market one of the largest and last remaining Floating market in Thailand. this authentic market has entranced travelers and photographeres the world over with its vividly colorful scenes of vendors offiering goods from long-tail boat on the sleepy green Damnoen Saduak Canal was built by King Rama 4 (IV) in th 19th century.
Damnoen Saduak is the straightest and longest Canal in Thailand King Rama 4 (IV) wanted to link the Mae Klong River with the Tha-Chin River to support transportation and trade. It took over 2 years to dig and was eventually finished under the reign of his successor King Rama 5 (V). The canal is 32 km. long and has more than 200 branches. The market has also been featured in several films. A canal chase scene in The Man with the Golden Gun with Roger Moore as James Bond was filmed at the market and the 2008film Bangkok Dangerous starring nicolas Cage includes a scene tha takes place at the market.
Mae Klong train market or Risky Market you will see a local market poised on the Railway tracks with vendors having to mover their goods and retracting awnings as train through, only to replace them as soon as the train passes.
